Anita Bailey

Anita’s compassionate and calm style of teaching invites you to begin a yoga practice with full acceptance of where you are in your personal journey and open your heart to the gradual process of discovering your soul’s potential. She believes that yoga is much more than what’s perceived and must be experienced in order to fully understand the insight yoga has to offer.

After being faced with a serious digestive auto-immune disease as a result of high levels of stress, Anita took her first yoga class hoping to begin a process of healing. What she discovered was a deep internal connection much greater than her external self and a balance of energy that restored a state of peace within her. Despite her lack of full understanding of yoga at the time, the experience sparked a colorful adventure of self-discovery, and a mission to teach yoga to others. This marks the beginning of her twelve-years of passionate yoga studies, teachings and personal practice.

Anita teaches a variety of yoga classes from vigorous flow-style yoga to yoga for deep relaxation. She is a Certified Relax and Renew® Trainer through Judith Hanson Lasater. She completed both a year-long apprenticeship with Gina Caputo, E-RYT and a 200 hour Teacher Training for Vinyasa/Prana Flow Yoga at Kansas Siddhi Yoga in Kansas City, MO. Workshops with Max Strom are her personal favorite. Yin Yoga is a focused interest for Anita and she hopes to explore the practice with the expert master teachers in her future.

In addition to her yoga training, she has over 20 years experience teaching group exercise. She earned an Associates Degree in Applied Science-Physical Therapy in 1996.
